NFT Profit Calculator – Gas, Marketplace Fees, Royalties and ROI
The NFT Profit Calculator is designed to show the real economics behind buying and selling non-fungible tokens. Instead of looking only at the buy and sell price, this tool lets you account for marketplace fees, creator royalties, gas costs and portfolio totals so you can see true net profit and return on investment.
NFT trading often includes several hidden frictions: network gas fees, platform commissions and recurring creator royalties on every sale. These extra costs can turn what looks like a profitable flip into a break-even or even losing trade. This calculator brings everything together so you can plan entries, exits and portfolio moves with clearer numbers.
How the NFT Profit Calculator Works
The calculator is split into four focused modes:
- Single Trade Profit: Analyze one NFT trade from buy to sell including fees, royalties and gas.
- Target Sell Price: Work backward from your desired profit or ROI to find the sell price you need.
- Portfolio Profit: Evaluate total profit and ROI across multiple NFTs or a full trading period.
- Break-Even Price: Find the minimum sell price per NFT needed to cover all costs.
You can change the currency symbol to match your environment, whether you work in USD, ETH, SOL or other tokens. All calculations are scenario-based and for planning and educational use.
Mode 1: Single NFT Trade Profit
The Single Trade Profit tab lets you break down one NFT flip in detail. You enter buy price, sell price, quantity, marketplace fee percentage, creator royalty percentage and total gas or transaction costs for the trade.
Single Trade Profit Formula
This breakdown shows you exactly how much each part of the trade contributes to the final result, making it easier to decide if a planned flip is worth the risk.
Mode 2: Target Sell Price for Desired Profit
The Target Sell Price tab starts from your goal rather than your exit. You enter your buy price, quantity, fee and royalty percentages, gas cost and either a desired profit amount or a target ROI percentage. The calculator then solves for the sell price you need.
Target Sell Price Formula
If you want a specific profit amount, the calculator solves for total sale value such that your net profit equals that amount.
With this mode you can immediately see if your desired profit is realistic once fees and gas are taken into account.
Mode 3: Portfolio Profit Across Multiple NFTs
The Portfolio Profit tab is built for traders who want to look at their results across several purchases and sales. Instead of entering each trade separately, you can input total cost basis, total sale value, combined fee percentage and extra costs such as gas, bridging fees or other on-chain expenses.
Portfolio Profit Formula
The tool also reports an effective fee rate based on your inputs so you can see how much of your sale value is consumed by platform and royalty charges.
Mode 4: Break-Even NFT Sell Price
The Break-Even Price tab tells you the minimum sell price per NFT that would leave you with zero profit after accounting for fees, royalties and gas. This is useful when you are managing floor listings or deciding where to cut a losing position.
Break-Even Price Formula
The calculator also shows the required price change versus your original buy price, so you can quickly see whether break-even is above or below recent floor levels.
Why Use an NFT Profit Calculator?
NFT markets can move quickly, and it is easy to underestimate how much fees, royalties and gas can eat into a trade. A structured profit calculator helps you:
- See net profit after all visible costs.
- Avoid overestimating gains from quick flips.
- Set realistic target sell prices before listing.
- Evaluate whether a project’s royalty structure fits your strategy.
- Review portfolio performance over multiple trades.
Because the tool is scenario-based, you can run many what-if cases: different gas assumptions, fee changes, royalties on secondary sales and alternative exit prices.
Examples of NFT Profit Calculations
Example 1: Single Flip with Royalties
You buy an NFT for 1.0 ETH and sell it for 1.6 ETH. Marketplace fee is 2.5%, creator royalty is 5% and total gas costs for both buy and sell are 0.06 ETH.
- Cost Basis: 1.0 ETH
- Gross Sale Value: 1.6 ETH
- Fees: 1.6 × 7.5% = 0.12 ETH
- Net Proceeds: 1.6 − 0.12 − 0.06 = 1.42 ETH
- Net Profit: 1.42 − 1.0 = 0.42 ETH
- ROI: 0.42 ÷ (1.0 + 0.06) ≈ 39.6%
Example 2: Target Sell Price
You buy 2 NFTs at 0.8 each, want 0.5 total profit, marketplace fees plus royalties are 10% and gas cost is 0.04. The calculator solves for the total sale needed and the required sell price per NFT so that net profit matches your goal.
Example 3: Portfolio of Several Collections
Across several collections you spent 3.5 ETH, your total sale value is 5.2 ETH, your blended fee plus royalty rate is 8% and you spent 0.4 ETH in gas. The calculator shows portfolio net profit, net proceeds and ROI, giving you a clearer view of your trading performance than looking at individual transactions alone.

Frequently Asked Questions About NFT Profit and ROI
Learn how to interpret fees, royalties, gas costs and returns on your NFT trades.
Yes. Each mode has a field where you can enter total gas or transaction costs. The calculator subtracts this amount when computing net profit and ROI.
You can enter any symbol or ticker in the currency field, such as ETH, WETH, SOL or USD. The math stays the same regardless of the unit you choose.
Many marketplaces apply creator royalties on every secondary sale, but policies can vary. The calculator assumes the royalty percentage you enter is charged on your sale value.
Yes. Any trade that involves a buy price, sell price, quantity and fees can be modeled with similar formulas, even if it is not an NFT collection.
No. The calculator is an educational and planning tool only. It does not suggest which NFTs to buy or sell and does not account for all potential risks or taxes.
